The following is a summation of the 2025 reunion.
Memories of our 10 reunion
Hilton Washington Dulles Airport
Herndon VA
The 2025 reunion was planned in Branson at the meeting between the officers and director. The location decided on was Washington DC. Dan Quackenbush volunteered to get it set up. It was held at the Hilton Washington Dulles Airport Hotel, Herndon VA.. On 04-02-25, departing 04-07-25. The choice was very good because everything was held close together. The hospitality room was set up on Wednesday 04-02-2025. There everyone could register and get reacquainted.
Two gentlemen that were missed in the setup were Benny and Art Harrison. They both had acceptable excuses, hope all is well now. Ralph Frank arrived on Wednesday taking on the reasonability for Benny. Between Tom Myles, myself, and Marilyn Frank(my wife) we were able to get the check in process set up all went well because Dan Quackenbush had the room all set to go. Wednesday was just checking in and getting registered. Tom Myles and Dan Quackenbush did the shopping for the room. Wednesday, Thursday, open to do as everyone liked. Some visited DC on their own.
Friday morning was the free bus tour all whom choose it boarded the bus at 9:30 am. This was a tour of the unknown solder and Arlington cemetery. Other went on tours of their own.
Saturday night was our business meeting between the officers and directors, Pizza party, general meeting and socializing. The meeting major part was to be about our next reunion except started with a discussion about "should this be our last reunion". By vote of the officers and directors it was determined this reunion would be the last and to retire the association.
After the meeting it was announce to all the vets that this was the last reunion and the end of the Association. There was discussion about ending the of the association and then started to auction all of the banners, memorabilia, sale items. There was a special blanket that was donated and auctioned off. All the money will be used to create a silver plague in honor of the 14th Transportation Battalion sent to the US Army Museum.
Sunday morning was left open so everyone could go to church if they choose to. Happy Hour started at 4:00 pm. Funded again by Tom Myles thank you Tom!
Photographs were taken of the large groups by Dave of Flash Photo. Individual pictures were taken of the companies. These should all be on the 14th website soon.
The banquet was held and the food was great. The program included Dr Erik Vallard as Guest speaker. He is the the US Army's Principle Historian for Vietnam. A ceremony honored the Veterans that lost their lives in Vietnam from each company. There is also a plaque with the individual Veterans names that were lost in Vietnam. It was donated by Carl and Joyce
We would like to Thank Everyone who had a helping hand in making this reunion Great!! There were many that helped out. Thanks to all who attended. Since this is the last reunion Stay safe and Healthy, and stay in touch.
