Dear 14th Transportation Members;
It Is with great honor that I write this letter. We the Officers and directors of the 14th Transportation
Battalion would like to thank each and every one of you, for attending the reunion. To make it a great
One!!!! Our only request is that you reach out to any others you may know and encourage them to
attend the next one in 2020. These reunions are all about fun and memories and seeing old friends.
The planning of this reunion started in January 2017. Tom Myles contacted John Drew, John contacted
Denny McKeever. From there on it was a lot of work and effort from Denny. Denny did an excellent job
in showing everyone Charleston South Carolina. We all thank you very much!! All the other officers and
directors were involved in many different issues by joining in on conference calls and making many
decisions. Thank you all for your efforts.
Our next reunion planning will start in January 2019. If you
are from Phoenix Arizona or Las Vegas, Nevada area depending on our next location, and would be
interested in help planning please contact Tom Myles or myself Dale Thomsen at

Memories and order of 2018 Reunion
Saturday November 3rd 2018 Tom Myles and others arrived early shopped and stocked hospitality room. Saturday evening was spent just visiting and filling welcome envelopes for Registration by all who wanted to help.
Sunday; Breakfast and Registration some went to church. The hospitality room was maned by Treasure Benny Aleman, Director Art Harrison, and Jedlicka Woody. Lots of visiting and catching up. It was and open day to do as you like.
Monday; Breakfast after that everyone who wanted to explore Charleston and eat in their fine restaurant’s. At 2:00 pm they had a Veterans parade in downtown Charleston, was very nicely done. Mostly military. Evening again was hospitality room for more visiting and free beer and soda.
Tuesday; Breakfast more milling around. 12:30 pm a group tour of Fort Sumter. Anyone who wanted to go was welcome just meet at tour boat. Got our tickets and we were off. This was a well-attended tour cruise through the bay and seen some sights. Fort Sumter was very interesting. Returned and a complementary sandwich dinner was served prior to the general meeting. Tim McElhinney was announced as Dan Sipples replacement as Director of the 608th. Welcome Tim. We wish Dan & Pat good luck with their health and future endeavors. Thank You Dan for your years of service at the 14th Transportation Battalion Association. Lori Thomsen was named official secretary in the officers group. Welcome Lori. The next location was voted on for the 2020 reunion. The top two were Phoenix, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada. The officers will investigate to see where we get the best options. The decision will be made at a later date. Then it was back to hospitality room for more free beer and sodas.
Wednesday; Breakfast open day some visited the Vietnam Experience and the York Town Aircraft carrier. This was free to the 14th Transportation and their guests. Wednesday evening 6:30 PM: on the York Town Hanger Level Social Hour with complimentary appetizers. 7:30 – 8:00 PM: Presentation of colors. National Anthem sung by Joyce Woods. Taps was played and a wreath was thrown overboard in honor of the fallen. Wreath made and donated by Denny and Penny McKeever. Thank you very much, that was a very special part of our evening. We were all presented the 50 Year anniversary pin. The tables were all white linen with real flower center pieces made by Penny McKeever. Very pretty setting.
Thursday; Breakfast; then the sad part everyone headed home or their separate ways.
This was a great reunion hope to see all of you again in 2020.
